• Obituary: Charlotte Observer, 11 Aug 1941, Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co, NC. ²⁶⁶ WAXHAW, Aug 10 -- Mrs. Claude M. McCain, 50, died this morning at a Charlotte hospital after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Walkersville Presbyterian church near here. Surviving are her husband, Claude Monroe McCain; five children, W. T. McCain, and Miss Edna McCain, both of Waxhaw, Mrs. Charlie M. Councilman of Ahoskie, Mrs. John Hayes of Charlotte, and Mrs. Aaron Hayes of Lancaster, S. C.; a sister, Mrs. Wriston Reeder of Harrisburg; and two brothers, Raymond B. Helms and Malon A. Helms, both of Waxhaw.
