• Research. ^13571,13572 In 1872 and 1873 Oswego City Directory, there is a Catharine Loftus, widow of Nicholas, living at same address as Nicholas, John, James, and Dennis Loftus. Since she is the widow of Nicholas, but there is also a Nicholas living there, I assume she is the widow of an older Nicholas, and she and Nicholas are possibly the parents of the other Loftus family members living there. But she does not appear in the 1870 Census with the other Loftus family members, so perhaps she (and Nicholas) were elsewhere and she moved to be with her children when her husband Nicholas died.
