Property, 4 May 1859, Orange County, North Carolina, United States. 4596 This deed made the 4th day of May AD 1859 between Henry Boggs & his wife Sarah of the county of Chatham in the State of North Carolina of the one part and Jacob Isley of the county of Orange in the State afore said of the other part witnesseth that for & in consideration of the Sum of Seventy Dollars to the Said Henry & Sarah Boggs in hand paid by the Said Jacob the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge, the Said Henry Boggs & his wife Sarah Boggs have bargained & Sold and do hereby bargain & Sell, alien confirm & release to the said Jacob Isley one fourth undivided part or (shire? maybe "share"?) in a certain tract or parcel of land into four equal parts to be divided which said land discended (sic) to George Councilman Katharine Thomas the wife of George Thomas Betsey Isley the wife of said Jacob and to the said Sarah Boggs as the heirs at law of Mary Councilman deceased and lies in the said county of Orange on the waters of Rock Creek adjoining the lands of Jacob Anthony Peter Boggs George Isley & others & bounded as follows; Beginning at a Post oak running thence 45 degrees west thirty four chains & fifty links to a stake thence north 45 degrees east nineteen chains to a persimmon thence South 45 degrees East thirty four chains & fifty links to a Red oak thence South 45 degrees west nineteen chains to the beginning containing fifty acres more or less to have & to hold to the said Jacob Isley & his heirs to his & their sole use and behoof and the Said Henry Boggs & his wife Sarah do hereby covenant to & with the Said Jacob Isley his heirs executors & assigns that the Said Jacob his heirs & assigns shall peaceably & genially hold and enjoy the lands herebby conveyed or intended to be conveyed against the lawful claims of themselves Said Henry & his wife Sarah their heirs or any other person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof they have hereunto set their hands & seals the day and year first above written.
