• Obituary. Madie Beal Scott, 97, of Siler City died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Hospice Home in High Point. Graveside services and burial were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Chatham Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Wall officiating.
Mrs. Scott was a native of Chatham County and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Nancy Cox Beal; husband, H.Van Scott; son, Charles Stephen Scott; six brothers and four sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jean S. Pendergrass of High Point: granddaughters, Mindy Wilkie of Wake Forest, Lisa P. Fenske of High Point, Tracy S. Thomas of Siler City; grandson, Russ Pendergrass of Lexington; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jacqulin W. Beal of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Scott was born March 19, 1911 the daughter of Charlie B. and Nancy (Cox) Beal.

She was a native of Chatham County and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Van Scott, a son Charles Stephen Scott, six brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jean S. Pendergrass of High Point, grandchildren, Mindy Wilkie of Wake Forest, Lisa P. Fenske of High Point, Tracy S. Thomas of Siler City and Russ Pendergrass of Lexington; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jacqulin W. Beal of Greensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be Saturday, June 14,2008 at 11:00 AM at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City, NC with Rev. Jim Wall officiating.
