  Noted events in his life were:

1. Story. ⁴⁹⁸ First appeared in New Jersey records on 18 Oct 1664, when he witnessed the delivery of wampun to the Indians for the purchase of Elizabethtown. He was a justice of the peace and secretary of the province. Early records of New Jersey appear in his handwriting, and he was president of the court at Woodbridge. Tradition says he was related to Anne Boleyn.

James* married Anne* VANQUELLIN, daughter of Robert* VANQUELLIN and Jeane* UNKNOWN. (Anne* VANQUELLIN was born about 1633 in England.)
