Buried in woods behind home of T H Moody, south of Bonlee on old 421 at junction with Callicutt Rd. Tombstone says "To the memory of Mary Beal. Born 1803 Died Nov 1859" Surrounded by remains of other tombstones, but all others are unmarked.

3. Appearance in Document, 8 Feb 1847, Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. Judgement against Mary Beal [probably not this one] from court of Pleas and Quarters for $45 from 11 Jun 1841. Sheriff Wesley Hanks sold at auction 83 acres where Mary then lived adjoining lands of Thomas and Asa Beal. Oran A Tyson was constable of the county. Thomas Beal was highest bidder at $5. (Chatham Co Deed book AH, p340) [Probably not this Mary Beal, since there is no mention of Caleb, and he would have been alive at the time].
