1. Obituary. 4473 Funeral Services will be conducted for John Courrege LaBauve, age 93, at 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Fr. Mike Arnaud officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. LaBauve passed away at7:05 am on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. LaBauve was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed watching sporting events and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially loved good food.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Todd M. Umphries and his wife Lisa; Donna Umphries; Dawn Umphries, Jennifer Umphries; Dayna Pharr and husband Jason and Joan Singleton and husband Patrick; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren one brother, Donald LaBauve of New Iberia and one sister, Lilyan L. Jenkins of Fredericksburg, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Enola LeBlanc LaBauve; daughter, Freda LaBauve Umphries; parents, Romeo and Odile Courrege LaBauve; and his siblings, Henry Allen LaBauve, Roland Joseph LaBauve, Albert LaBauve, Leverne LaBauve and Yvonne L. Watson.

Pallbearers will be Todd Umphries, Christian Umphries, Jerry Segura, Wayne "Tim" Segura, Richard Segura and Billy Landry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Umphries and Patrick Singleton, II.

Evangeline Funeral Homes, Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
