1. Obituary. Martha Davis Lindley, 88, of Siler City died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Hillsborough. Mrs. Lindley was born June 28, 1922 in Wilmington, NC, the daughter of John W. and Iola (Williams) Davis. Mrs. Lindley was a native of Wilmington, and a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, the U.M.W., the Senior Adult Sunday school class and served on the bereavement committee. Martha was blessed with many friends and was well known for her cooking, especially Brunswick stew, turkey and dressing, and cakes. She enjoyed quilting and most of all, spending time with her family. Her husband, Leon L. Lindley, preceded her in death.
Martha married Leon Leland LINDLEY, son of Jabez Ingram LINDLEY and Lula Blanche COBLE. (Leon Leland LINDLEY was born on 25 Mar 1918 in Chatham County, North Carolina, United States,4342 died on 9 Dec 2004 in Orange County, North Carolina, United States and was buried in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Siler City, Chatham County, North Carolina.)
