9. Obituary: Kokomo Tribune, 8 Mar 1973, Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana, United States. 3462 Thomas Parker Haywood, 54, 2225 S. Indiana Ave., died at Winona Hospital, Indianapolis, early Thursday morning following an extended illness.
He had been a traffic manager for Stellite Division here for the past seven years and formerly had been employed with Miller Trucking Company and the Brada Miller Trucking Company.
Born in Bainbridge, Ga., April 27 1918, he was the son of Edgar and Evelyn (Parker) Haywood. He had lived in Kokomo since 1946.
He was first married to Mary Caroline Ingels, who died in 1950. Later, in 1952, he was united in marriage with Patricia McNutt, who survives.
A graduate of Bainbridge High School in 1936, he attended Florida State University and had graduated from teh College of Advance Traffic in Chicago.
He was a past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 190 and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and had been a former chairman of its transportation committee.
He was a past president of the Kokomo Transportation Club and a member of Delta Nu, a trucking fraternity. He also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivng with the widow are a son, Will Haywood; a duaghter, Julie Haywood, both at home; three brothers, Edgar Haywood, LIve Oak, Fla.; James Haywood, Tampa, Fla., and David Haywood, Osceola, Fla., and a sister, Miss Alice Haywood, Washington, D.C.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in teh Eilers Funeral Chapel with Dr. Harry Walrond officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
