9. Education. 606 Attended Donaldson on Haymount Hill in Fayetteville, later attended Salemburg College at Salemburg, NC, and Meredith College in Raleigh.

10. Story. 607 Burline's recollections mention two tenant farmers of her fathers, Anna and Hayse Lock. Their youngest daughter, Modist, helped Burline and L.G. after they were married, for about 20 years. She helped care for the children, and was a cook.

11. Story. 608 Gladys Haywood Lindley was very close to Burline. Even though they were different generations, there were only 10 years separating them. Burline was the youngest of her generation, Gladys the oldest of hers, so they played together and Gladys spent a lot of time at their house as she grew up. When Burline was older and was sick for a while in a hospital, Gladys stayed at the house and helped take care of the children.

12. Story. Burline lived in a large white house with columns, still in use entering Fayetteville on Person Street. The house has a large curved staircase.
