bullet  Noted events in his life were:

1. Appearance in Document, 14 Nov 1787, Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. Jacob Ganey summoned to be juror. (Sampson Co Court Minutes) [so Jacob is 21 by 1787, and born by 1766]

2. Census, 1790, Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. Jacob Ganey is over 16, living with 4 females (Fayette District, Sampson Co)

3. Property, 11 Nov 1794, Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. Deed from Jacob Gainey to Sampson Lee, 50 acres. (Sampson Co Court Minutes)

4. Appearance in Document, 15 May 1798, Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. Jacob Gainey reported delinquent for not providing a list of taxable property in 1797. He is listed with 200 acres and 1 poll. (Sampson Co Court Minutes)

5. Census, 1800, Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. Jacob Gainey [maybe this one] entry is 1 male over 45, 1 female over 45. (Fayetteville Twp, Sampson Co, NC)

6. Census, 1810, Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. Jacob Ganey is 45 and over, living with 1 male under 10 [could be Elias], 1 female 26-45 (Sampson Co, p479)

7. Story. [Not sure Jacob is son of Bartholomew, but have placed him here for now. Could be brother or unrelated. Jacob is of the right age to be a brother to William Gainey and son of Bartholomew Gainey, but he does not appear in Bartholomew's will, nor are there any unplaced Gainey grandchildren in the will, although if Jacob had daughters they could be some of the females with other last names mentioned in the will.]
