Watus Fuquay, 77, of 1720 S. Mebane St., Burlington, died Monday, July 8, 1996, at 8 a.m. in his home after two years declining and two weeks critical health. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with burial in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Skip Williams, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Mr. Fuquay was a native of Chatham County, son of the late William Fleming Fuquay and the late Carrie Lindley Fuquay. He was retired from Burlington Industries, and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret G. Fuquay of Burlington; daughter, Mrs. Jolete F. Harviel of Burlington; son-in-law, Mr. Ernest J. Harviel of Burlington; sisters, Mrs. Mabel Perry of Graham, and Mrs. Allene Rathjen of Vienna, Va.; and granddaughters, Jennifer J. Harviel and Carrie E. Harviel, both of Burlington. The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, and other times, they will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 609 Trail 2, Burlington, N.C. 27215, or to Hospice of Alamance Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216.
