1. Property, 3 May 1779, Bladen County, North Carolina, United States. Deed for James SMITH [maybe this one], carpenter. 100 acres in Bladen Co, between Daniel SHIPMAN'S land and Cornelius FARREL'S land. #1009.

2. Appearance in Document, 16 Aug 1833, Bladen County, North Carolina, United States. Deed from John Smith to Daniel Smith, both of Bladen Co. John sells 100 acres on north east side of Turnbull Creek for $50. James Smith was witness. Acknowledged in Feb 1834 court term. (Bladen Co, NC Deed Book 10 pg 129/130, posted at Bladen Co Rootsweb site). [Note in posting says: This land is the same land James Smith gave to John Smith, his son -- Deed Book 8 pg 570. This deed was executed and proved before John Smith had an executed and proven deed to the land.]

3. Property, 5 Mar 1840, Bladen County, North Carolina, United States. Deed from James Smith Sr to William Smith, both of Bladen Co. James grants "for and in consideration of the love and affection which I have and bear to my son William Smith" 162 acres in two tracts. The first tract is 102 acres on east side of Jame's creek. Second tract is 60 acres adjoining William White, Mathern, and black Jack White. Proved at Feb 1840 term of Court of Pleas and Quarters. 4. Property, 5 Mar 1840, Bladen County, North Carolina, United States. Deed from James Smith Sr to "John Smith his son", both of Bladen Co. James Smith grants "for the natural love and affection which I have and do bear to my son" 115 acres on the north east side of Turnbull. Proved at Feb 1840 court session. (Bladen County, NC, Deed Book 8 pg 570, posted at Bladen Co Rootsweb site).
