4. Obituary, 17 Sep 1996. Mrs. Nina Frye Stovall, 88, formerly of 722 N. 2nd Ave., died Sunday, Sept. 15, 1996, at Chatham Hospital. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1996, in the Smith & Buckner Chapel with the Rev. Tim McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. A native of Patrick County, Va., Mrs. Stovall was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by five sons, Lewis Stovall of Burlington, Henry Stovall of Carolina Beach, Bobby Stovall of Liberty, William 'Bud' Stovall and James Dillard Stovall, both of Siler City; four daughters, Vernell Councilman of Bonlee, Hazel McMath of Hamlet, Sarah Wicker of Siler City, and JoAnn Cook of Monroe; brother, Odell J. Frye of Reidsville; sisters, Clarise F. Hyde of Siler City, and Fannie Hall of Liberty; 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, and other times they will be at the home of a son, William 'Bud' Stovall, 104 Ingle St., Siler City.
