1. Military Service: Confederate Soldier. Lt. Thomas S Green was member of Company E, 28th Regiment, "Montgomery Grays", wounded at Chancellorsville 2-3 May 1863. Capt Thomas S Green was wounded at Reams Station, VA, 25 Aug 1864. (posted at USGenWeb Archive site)
2. Military Service: Confederate Soldier. 3971 In Civil War, Co E, 28th Regiment included 1st Lt Thomas S Green, Pvts William T Green, Joel Green, Robert E Green (d 30 May 62 at Charlottesville), Wilson Haywood.
3. Appearance in Document, 2 Jul 1866, Montgomery County, North Carolina, United States. In the Court of Pleas and Quarters of Montgomery Co, July Term 1866, there is a report of the commissioners appointed to divide the land of Robert Green, deceased, and Clabourne Green, deceased, amongst Thomas S Green and the minor heirs of Robert Green. They assign one 168 acre lot to Thomas S Greene and another 168 acre lot to the minor heirs of Robert Green. The minor heirs are never listed. 4. Story. 781 Thomas Samuel Greene was born 1841, son of Claiborne Greene and Mary. He married Eva "Kizzie" T. (b 1849) about 1866. Their children were Walter, Annie L, Eddie H, Johnnie, and Thomie.
