1. Appearance in Document, 1846. An Equity Court petition after the death of Robert's brother Howell Greene in 1846 identifies Robert as Howell's brother. (posted on web at www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nc/montnc.htm)

2. Property, 6 Nov 1848, Richmond County, North Carolina, United States. Deed from Robert Green of Montgomery Co to John Bowden of Richmond Co for 68 acres of land in Richmond Co by Buffelow Creek, borders land belonging to minor heirs of Claiborn Green deceased. 3. Probate, 30 Dec 1858. A committee established by court order at October 1858 term valued the negros belonging to the estate of Robert Green, deceased, as follows: Mat ($500), Gilbert ($800), Jerry ($1583), Ginny ($226), Lias ($1050), Dowd ($1000), Leak ($911), Lucy and May ($800), Disy ($725), Edy ($525), Martha ($425), Pearce ($350), Pearson ($350). This valuation was done to allow the slaves to be divided among the heirs. The widow received Jerry and Martha. The others were left in the care of the Guardian. 4. Probate, 2 Jul 1866, Montgomery County, North Carolina, United States. In the Court of Pleas and Quarters of Montgomery Co, July Term 1866, there is a report of the commissioners appointed to divide the land of Robert Green, deceased, and Clabourne Green, deceased, amongst Thomas S Green and the minor heirs of Robert Green. They assign one 168 acre lot to Thomas S Greene and another 168 acre lot to the minor heirs of Robert Green. The minor heirs are never listed. 5. Appearance in Document, 12 Aug 1872, Montgomery County, North Carolina, United States. Minutes of Superior Court in Montgomery County show a case of C J Bruton, guardian of the minor heirs of Robert Green, deceased (the heirs are H D Green, W C Green, Rebecka J Green and Robert Green) against William Haywood, administrator of H D Green, W T Roper in right of his deceased wife Rebecka J and William Haywood guardian adlitum for W C Green and Robert Green. The minutes show that William Haywood and William Roper testified. William Haywood for plaintiff says that Howell D Green died about 1 October 1870 and he was then 21 years old. The defendant William Roper says he was married to Rebecka J Green on 12 August or September 1867 and she was then about 15 years and 4 months old, and she died about 1 July 1869.
