2. Appearance in Document, 15 Dec 1683, Perquimans Mtg, Perquimans County, North Carolina Colony. 423,427 Ann and Robert Wilson were witnesses at the wedding of William Bundy and Mary Peirce in Perquimans County, NC. This is the earliest wedding recorded in the Perquimans MM records.

3. Appearance in Document, 19 Oct 1687, Perquimans Mtg, Perquimans County, North Carolina Colony. 423 Robert Wilson signed marriage record of John Belman and Sarah Wilson.

4. Appearance in Document, 8 Jan 1704, Chuckatuck Mtg, Nansemond County, Virginia Colony. 424,425 A letter sent by Chuckatuck Mtg, VA, to Friends belonging to Perquimans Mtg, NC, concerning the will of Robert Wilson, in which said Wilson left Sarah Bellman 18 pounds; her husband, John, her daughter (unnamed) and Isaac Wilson were also named.

5. Story. 428 "The first permanent settlement in North Carolina," said W. H. Battle "was made about the year 1660, by emigrants from Virginia, on the north side of Albemarle sound, and probably on Durant's neck in Perquimans county, lying between Perquimans and Little rivers. The oldest land title is a conveyance for that neck of land from the King of the Yeopim Indians to George Durant, dated 1662. On the twenty-fourth of March, 1663, King Charles the Second, granted to Edward, Earl of Clarendon, and others, as true and absolute Lords Proprietors, all the country from the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean, including between the thirty-first and thirty-sixth parallels of north latitude; and on the thirtieth of June, 1665, by a second charter he enlarged the powers of the grantees and extended their boundries so as to include all the country between the parallels of thirty-six degrees thirty minutes and twenty-nine degrees north latitude."

In 1663, George Drummond was appointed the first Governor of the colony then known as the county of Albemarle, by Governor Berkley of Virginia. In 1677 Governor Drummond was succeeded by Samuel Stephens.
