Property, 17 Nov 1716, Prince Georges County, Maryland, United States. 3738 Deed of gift from Hugh Riley, planter of Prince George's Co, to Leady Riley, his daughter, and wife of Thomas Swearingen, a parcel of land called "Riley's Gift" laid out for 120 acres from a larger parcel called "Hill's Choice" left to Leady Swearingen and her heirs. If Thomas Swearington should outlive her, he is to have lifetime tenure. Witnessed by Samuel Swearingen. (Prince George's Co Land Records, Liber F, folio 571).

3. Story. 3718 Lydia "Leady" Riley, dau of Hugh Riley and Margaret, m Thomas Swearingen, d ca 1726. Thomas was illiterate. Children from Queen Anne Parish were Thomas, Mary, Laurana, Margaret, and Van.

Appearance in Document, 20 May 1750, Frederick County, Virginia, United States. 3736 Thomas and Van Swearingen (both born ca 1700) had a sister whose son Henry Dossett came to Virginia and left a will written on 20 May 1750 (proved 7 Aug 1759) listing his cousins Thomas, Andrew, Van, and Zachariah. To his Aunt Sarah, wife of Capt Thomas, later referred to as Uncle, he left one barrel of rye brandy. He willed to his grandmother Lidia Swearingen (mother of Van, Thomas, and his (Dossett's) mother) silver sleeve buttons (Frederick Co Va Will Book 2, p356)
