1. Story. Born between 1775 and 1780, Thomas was probably the son of George Niblock of Rowan Co, NC. He married Margaret Montgomery, daughter of James Montgomery and his second wife, Susannah Strange.
Thomas Niblack was a pioneer settler in Jackson Co, GA, a resident there by 1804 according to the tax list of that year. His name appears on many early court documents, particularly because he served as the justice of the peace.
The will of Thomas Niblack lists his children in birth order: 1) Samuel, born 1803, married a Leah; 2) Cynthia, born 1805, married Thomas Shockley; 3) Amelia (called Permelia) born 1808, married Benjamin H. Lamkin; 4) Hugh, born 1811, married Emily A. Howard; 5) Augustus, born 1814, married Mary Matthews; 6) Virginia, born 1817, married Green Berry Epperson; and 8) Caroline, born 1819, married Hartsford Howard. (Note: According to the book NOTABLE SOUTHERN FAMILIES, Volume 2, Thomas and Margaret also had a son named William. If so, he probably have died before his father.)
Thomas died sometime between the enumeration of the 1840 census and July 4, 1842, when his will was probated. (from "Find a Grave" website entry for Thomas Niblack)
Thomas married Margaret MONTGOMERY, daughter of Captain James* MONTGOMERY and Susannah STRANGE. (Margaret MONTGOMERY was born in 1785 in South Carolina, United States 3639 and died in Apr 1860 in Smith County, Texas, United States.)
