  • Born: Abt 1838, North Carolina, United States 2685,3443
  • Marriage: UNKNOWN, Fanny

bullet  Noted events in his life were:

1) Mariah Forshee, age 43, born NC, cannot read and write
2) Jas. Forshee, age 21, labourer, born NC
3) Mary Forshee, age 16, born NC
4) Francis Forshee, age 15, female, born NC
5) Benjn Forshee, age 12, born NC
6) Wm Forshee, age 10, born NC

1) Benj. Foushee, age 21, laborer, personal estate $25, cannot read and write
2) Fanny Foushee, age 22, housekeeper, cannot read and write.

[This entry is not done correctly on the original census page. There is a long list of families without any dwelling or family numbers, so it is not possible to tell what the household groupings really are. The above family is the last two people in the long list.]

3. Census, 1870, Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. Benjn Fooshee [maybe this one] is 34, farmer, with Hannah (37, keeping house), Mary (9), Horace (6), Betsy (4), Jackson (2). (Pittsboro PO, North Side of Pittsboro Rd, Chatham Co, NC, p135, family 1109)

4. Cemetery: Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. There is a Benjamin Foushee [maybe this one] buried at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Graham, Alamance Co. On the entry at Find-a-Grave website, it says born Feb 19, 1837, which matches this Benjamin pretty well. The deathdate is 22 Apr 1884. However, the posting also says Benjamin's spouse is Hannah Workman, father Charles S Foushee, and mother Mariah Dowd. Hannah Workman Foushee is also buried there.

But, the 1850 Census entry for Charles and Mariah Foushee does not include a child Benjamin, who would only be 12 in 1850, so I doubt that the Benjamin Foushee in the cemetery is really the child of Charles and Mariah.

Benjamin married Fanny UNKNOWN. (Fanny UNKNOWN was born circa 1837 3443.)
