Sarah refers to Jasper as her grandson. She identifies a son William J Page, a granddaughter Joise J Mazey, a grandson James E Page, granddaughter Sarah E Dixon, grandson Jesse M Page, granddaughter Charity A Fox, grandchildren Chesley Everett Page, Nathaniel L Page, Nancy C Page, Amy Matilda Page, grandson Jasper Fooshee. Sarah's husband is already dead. (abstracts of Wills of Chatham Co, Will Book C, p311) [This means that Sarah would have a daughter who married a Fooshee and had a son Jasper. The daughter's last name would be Page.]

5. Census, 1860, Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. Jasper Foushee [maybe this one] is 29, farmer, with Margaret J (27), Eulolia P (2), John W (1). (Pittsboro PO, Middle Division, Chatham Co, p214, family 469).

No birth or death information appears on the stone. The entry at Find A Grave website says the death date is 1861, but that is not visible from the photo of the stone.

In cemetery at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Chatham Co, there is a tombstone for Jasper Foushee, b 25 Nov 1830, d 12 Jun 1913, "He died as he lived, a Christian". Might be this Jasper Foushee, although there is another one in the same area and about the same age.
