9. Story: Memorial Marker: Spring Mtg Cemetery, Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. 1848 Memorial Marker says "In Memory of Thomas Lindley 25-2-1706, 14-9-1781, Ruth Hadley, 6-12-1712, 4-12-1785, Ancestors of the Lindleys of N.C. and the West, Gave these lands to Spring Meeting. 1928."

The memorial was presented 25 August, 1928, according to newspaper article in Daily News of Sunday, Sept 9, 1928. I have a copy of the program for the First Lindley Reunion at Spring Friends Church at which the marker was dedicated. In that program, the devotional was given by Rev A. O. Lindley, the President's Remarks were given by Prof. E. P. Dixon, and the Welcome was given by Dr. P. E. Lindley. The marker was presented by Charles Lindley of Indiana.
